Foreign tourists swept away at sea, rescued in Vietnam |

Four foreign tourists who were swept away while on a diving tour Tuesday were rescued off Phu Quoc island in southern Vietnam. The four were on a scuba diving tour 20m below when they were carried away by violent underwater currents. Sensing danger, four Vietnamese instructors working for the tour pulled them away from hazardous areas and helped them onto a nearby islet. A couple of hours later, local coastguards, whom the instructors called on their radio, rescued them and took them ashore.The coral reef tour was organized by the three-star Saigon-Phu Quoc hotel.Phu Quoc, the largest island in Vietnam and part of southern Kien Giang province, is a major tourist attraction.
